Salary Calculator and data storage

Salary Calculator estimates pay from the rates you enter and your flight and positioning records. It is available to pilots with a supported airline and a cockpit rank in their profile. The estimate is informational and may differ from a payslip.

Choose where to keep salary data

Open Settings → Salary Calculator. The Store my salary data on the server switch is on by default.

  • On: MyLog saves your salary rate versions and monthly estimates on its server. Monthly Earnings shows past months, and the Monthly Digest may include a salary estimate. Your regular flight log sync continues.
  • Off: MyLog keeps only the current salary rate on this device and calculates the current estimate here. The rate and calculated amount are not uploaded to MyLog. Previous Rate Revisions and Monthly Earnings are unavailable, and the Monthly Digest contains no salary section. Your regular flight log sync continues.

Turning the switch off asks for confirmation. If you confirm, MyLog deletes the existing salary rate profiles and monthly estimate records from its active server database. The app retains only the current rate on this device and removes earlier and future rate versions. For the current month, it applies that rate from the first day and recalculates the estimate; a mid-month rate change is no longer reflected separately. Logging out or uninstalling MyLog removes the local salary rate. It cannot be recovered through MyLog sync.

Turning the switch back on uploads the current rate still present on this device. Historical estimates are not restored as saved snapshots; months with enough flight records and an effective rate may be calculated again when you open Monthly Earnings.

The separate switches for showing an estimate in the app and on phone widgets or Apple Watch control visibility. They do not change this storage choice.

warning

If your device is lost, reset, or the app is removed while server storage is off, your local salary rate is lost. Keep a separate record if you need it later.
