Smart Import
Smart Import is the main way to bring existing logbook data into MyLog. Instead of choosing a specific import type first, you can upload a file and let MyLog detect the format when possible.
Smart Import can work with supported files such as Excel, PDF, JSON, and other logbook export formats. If the file is not recognized immediately, MyLog may try to understand the file and ask you to review the column matching before importing.
Where to find it
Open Import Data and choose Smart Import.
The Smart Import screen focuses on two actions:
- Upload a file.
- Open the guide that explains how to get an export file from your current logbook or company system.
If you still need the older import categories, use Show Legacy Import Options from the Import Data screen.
Start a Smart Import
- Open Import Data.
- Choose Smart Import.
- Upload the file you want to import.
- Wait while MyLog detects the file type and starts processing.
- If MyLog asks you to review field or column matching, check the suggested mapping and confirm it.
- Follow the import progress until processing finishes.
Import progress is shown while the file is being processed, so the progress bar follows the actual import work more closely.
Import from the share menu
You can also send supported files to MyLog from the operating system share menu.
For example, if you have an Excel, PDF, or JSON file on your device, open the system share sheet and choose MyLog. MyLog opens the import flow and starts from the shared file.
This is useful when the file comes from email, cloud storage, Files, or another app.
Review unknown files
If MyLog cannot recognize a file with a known importer, it may still try to understand the file structure. In that case, you may be asked to review column matching before the import continues.
Check that important fields such as dates, airports, aircraft, simulator information, and flight times match the correct MyLog fields before confirming.
Smart Import can help with unknown files, but it cannot guarantee that every file can be imported automatically. Always review the result after importing.
Import history and error files
Past imports are listed on the Import screen. Open an import result to review what happened.
If an import produced an error file, use the download option in Import Results to inspect the rows that could not be imported.
Legacy import options
Older import categories are still available from Show Legacy Import Options. Use them when you already know the exact source format you want to import from, or when support asks you to use a specific legacy importer.
